Register for our Manage my Service webinar
We are hosting an online Manage my Service webinar for adult care services on Monday 20 July, 11:00-12:00, to help you prepare for the launch of our new digital platform in August.
As a single online portal, Manage my Service will replace our existing Digital Portal and eForms to simplify how you communicate with us, making processes more efficient and improving security.
This online session will provide an overview of the platform and cover key changes for providers, onboarding, training and support. There will also be a live Q&A session.
The webinar will be recorded and shared for anyone who cannot attend.

Share your experience of inspection feedback
We are inviting you to complete our inspection feedback survey to help us understand how feedback is experienced during inspections.
We want to hear about what works well or not so well for you and your service when it comes to receiving feedback.
Feedback happens throughout the inspection. It is based on open, professional discussion between providers, managers, and inspectors. It provides an opportunity to discuss observations and emerging findings, recognise strengths, and identify areas for development. At the end of the inspection, inspectors give formal feedback. They outline the findings and draft evaluations. This is also a chance to ask questions, share more information, and discuss the feedback.
Please answer openly and honestly, we do not ask for any identifying information other than what sector you work in.
Supporting improvement in social care
The Care Inspectorate, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) are working together to support improvement in social care.
The Care Inspectorate has identified areas where staff and services may need more support to strengthen practice. Using this insight, PSD Scotland and SSSC have brought together practical learning resources to help address these needs.
We are working together to:
We encourage you to explore these resources and think about how they could support your service.
Meaningful Connection: new and updated resources
Following the implementation of Anne’s Law, we have developed and updated a range of resources to support care homes, residents and families in understanding their rights and responsibilities around visiting and meaningful connection.
We encourage care homes to share these resources with residents, families and staff, and to display the posters prominently within the service. Further resources are in development and will be publicised when available.
Meaningful Connection self-evaluation tool
We have also refreshed the Meaningful Connection self-evaluation tool, which is now available in both Word and PDF formats. The tool aims to support services in evaluating how well they are doing in terms of supporting connection, and inform their improvement activity.
Code of Practice
The Anne’s Law Code of Practice provides practical guidance on implementing the legislation in day-to-day practice.
Notification requirements
To help protect people’s rights and support Scottish Government reporting requirements, the Care Inspectorate must now be notified whenever visiting is suspended or restricted in adult care homes. Providers should:
- for outbreak-related restrictions, complete the new section in the existing outbreak notification.
- for any other visiting restrictions, complete the eForm “Non-outbreak related visiting restrictions (Care homes)”.
Information sessions
Look out for our forthcoming webinar – date to be confirmed. We also have some limited capacity to provide tailored online or in-person sessions for groups of care home managers or staff. Have Your Say survey reveals workforce experiences
The SSSC has published the 2026 Have Your Say Workforce Wellbeing Survey report. The report shows a highly motivated workforce, that many people feel valued and they want to learn and develop.
Most people joined the sector to make a difference and expected to enjoy their role. However, the report also highlights ongoing challenges, including workload pressures, staff turnover and pay and conditions.
The survey report shows that experiences vary across the workforce, depending what type of service people work in. The SSSC will hold a series of free events to share the survey findings and provide more detailed insights for different parts of the sector.
