The impact of employment advisors in NHS Talking Therapies on employee earnings and employment status
On 26 May, the ONS released an article examining the impact of employment advisors in NHS Talking Therapies on employee earnings and employment status.
This is the first time the ONS has looked at the impact of receiving employment advisor (EA) support alongside psychological therapy in NHS Talking Therapies (NHSTT), compared with receiving psychological therapy only.
This work was carried out by the ONS in collaboration with the University of York, as part of the Support2Work project.
Experiences of NHS healthcare services in England
On 21 May, the ONS released recent data, including:
- local GP services
- NHS treatment waiting lists
- community health services
- dentistry and pharmacy services
These are official statistics in development.
Past and projected period and cohort life tables: 2024-based,1981 to 2074, UK
On 15 May, the ONS published projections of period and cohort life expectancy by age and sex for the UK and the constituent countries. The projections are based on observed data (deaths and population estimates) up to 2024 and projected data from 2025 onwards.
You can also use an interactive life expectancy calculator to find out average life expectancy based on age and sex, and chances of survival to at least age 100 years.
Alcohol-specific deaths in the UK: registered in 2024
On 11 May, the ONS released analysis of deaths caused by diseases known to be a direct consequence of alcohol by age, sex and region.
The breakdowns covered by the bulletin include UK country, age, sex, region, and local authority.
Child and infant mortality in England and Wales: 2024
On 11 May, the ONS released the latest figures for childhood (aged 1-15 years) and infant (aged under 1 year) mortality for 2024. This covers stillbirths, infant and childhood deaths occurring in England and Wales, and associated risk factors.
