Over the coming week, there will be plenty of events for volunteers and service users to enjoy, alongside our annual Volunteering and Voluntary Sector Awards, recognising the outstanding contributions of organisations and individuals across Fife. Join us as we shine a spotlight on the dedication, kindness, and impact of volunteers throughout the region.

Volunteers’ Week is just around the corner, and we’ve got an exciting programme of events lined up across Fife!
Taking place from 1–7 June, this special week is all about celebrating the amazing contributions volunteers make in our communities — and there’s something for everyone to get involved in and enjoy.
Alongside the fantastic events happening throughout the week, we’ll also be celebrating with our own volunteers at a relaxed coffee morning, giving everyone the chance to come together, catch up, and recognise the difference they make every day.

Lunchtime Learning - Power of Attorney

We'll be joined by a variety of experts in power of attorney from the public and third sectors who can help attendees understand what power of attorney is, why it's important, support services that are available, and financial advice.

Lunchtime Learning: Fife and The Forth Green Freeport
Tuesday 23 June, 12.00 - 1.00pm, online
The Forth Green Freeport is an area of land linked to a port where normal tax and customs rules are varied to promote growth and trade. Tune in to this session to learn about what this means for the Forth Green Freeport, how it can help support Fife's employability vision, and how we can learn from each other's development strategies.

Understanding Universal Credit

At this session, Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) will help participants understand how employability practitioners can continue to support those who are now on Universal Credit in terms of application, online access, and making queries about benefit decisions.

DWP Connect is a Know Your Network-style event at which participants will find out more about multiple individual Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) projects and services via the ever-popular table hops.

PVG/Disclosure - Introductory Session

Following the updates from the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, the course will provide up-to-date information on different types of disclosure checks, regulated roles, how to process checks, and safe recruitment.

This session is about successfully completing funding applications and will guide you to effectively find appropriate funders and funding opportunities, understand funders’ priorities, and construct compelling proposals that meet application criteria.

Membership of the Forum is open to all staff and trustees with constituted third sector organisations operating in the Fife area in the field of health and social care (i.e. it's not just for organisations that focus entirely on mental health).

Fife Carers Centre: Unpaid Carers Conference

This year's Carers Week theme is Carer Friendly Communities, and that theme sits at the heart of this event. You'll explore what it means to build communities where carers are seen, supported, and valued, and what more needs to happen across Fife to make that a reality.
The day will include interactive workshops and talks from organisations working alongside carers, with plenty of opportunity to share your own experiences and hear from others.
