Care Inspectorate Newsletter Provider update for adult and older people's services from the Care Inspectorate Thu 10/9/2026

Later this year, we will launch Manage my Service. This single online portal will replace eForms and the Care Inspectorate's Digital portal, allowing care services and providers to manage all interactions with us in one place. 

We recently contacted registered care providers to request user details for provider-level access to Manage my Service. As a reminder, this applies to all registered providers with an active Service Provider (SP) number, even if you only operate a single service. This is separate from the request sent to care services in May/June for service-level users. 

Action required for provider-level access 

Any providers registered with us, with an active SP number, that have not yet provided us with user details for Manage my Service should do so here.

Once you have completed the form, no further action is required at this stage.

For general Manage my Service questions, please continue to use the webpage and FAQs as the primary source of information. New guidance and support materials will be published there as we move closer to the launch of Manage my Service. 

The Scottish Government has launched a consultation to understand public awareness, perceptions and experiences of social prescribing through an online survey and conversation. The feedback will help shape the National Social Prescribing Framework, ensuring future services and support are shaped by the people who use them. 

Social prescribing connects people with local community support, such as activities, groups, welfare advice, volunteering opportunities, physical activity and cultural programmes. It helps people access the non-medical support they need to improve their wellbeing alongside health and social care services. 

Whether you have used this type of support before or not, your views will help shape the future direction of social prescribing in Scotland.

Digitally Enabled Workforce (DEW)

The next Digital Champions Connect & Learn session will be taking place on Wednesday 23 September, 14:00-15:00.

Shannon McNee, Digital Inclusion Development Manager at Carr Gomm, will share practical learning on embedding digital inclusion into everyday social care practice, building workforce confidence and strengthening Digital Champion approaches.

Public Health Scotland - vaccination programme

Flu hits hard, and for some, it hits harder. Last winter, nearly 5,000 people were admitted to hospital for flu among those aged 18 and over in Scotland. To find out more about the flu vaccine and who is eligible, click here.
