I am sorry to say that I have not been feeling to well lately plus my Wife and young dog are taking up my time. My wife just got out of hospital on the 8th of December 2021 after being in hospital for 2 days short of a year. She went into hospital on the 10th of December 2020 to get a cancerous tumour removed from near the bottom of her spine, which also meant that she had to have her left leg removed, plus got a colostomy bag, a suprapubic catheter installed and a hysterectomy. Later she had a peg feeding system put in place, though this was help build her up so that she could get home. Maybe I should put get home so that she would have her family around her when the new cancerous tumour takes her live sometime in the near future.

As I said, the surgeons remove the cancer etc in December 2021 but this was not Shirley`s first cancerous tumour it`s her second. The first one was in 2015 when she had her left hand pelvis removed to remove a cancerous tumour there.

Shirley also had major skin infections after the December 2021 operation. The first infection lasted a few months I think, which after a skin biopsy it was found to have been caused by the mixture of different antibiotics that she was given a the operation. Then later she got another skin infection which turned out to be caused by lupus which she is being treated for.

Then a wound in her bum got infected which to this day is still being treated. Because of this wound Shirley is bed bound. She only is aloud out of bed by hoist into her wheelchair once a day for a couple of hours at most due to due to the condition of the skin around her wound. Shirley also has had Raynaud's syndrome for a number of years which we have recently been told can be caused by Lupus.

About 6 month into her stay in hospital a Doctor thought that Shirley might have a bone infection so he had Shirley get a mri in which they did find a bone infection but they also found that the cancer was back, and in a place where Shirley`s consultant said they were not wanting to go. He said that he could operate but Shirley would not survive the operation and that he would rather Shirley had a reasonably good quality of live at least until the cancer took her than put her through the Rigmarole of the operation.

So Shirley is home to die.

All the above might not have happened but for a Doctor not checking Shirley CT scan in 2019 correctly.

Shirley was getting CT scans every year to check if the cancer was back and in 2019 she was given the all clear.

In 2020 Shirley had had her yearly CT scan, a short time before she was to see her consultant (in September I think). A about a month I think Shirley received a letter asking her to come to an earlier date to see the consultant which we did.

We were told that when the 2020 Ct scan was checked a largish tumour was found, and they were surprised it had grown so large since the 2019 was given the all clear. So they went back to the 2019 CT scan and found that the tumour was in the 2019 Ct scan but the person that had checked the CT scan had not noticed it. So the tumour had another 12 months to grow before it was noticed....

Shirley`s long term prognosis might not have changed much, but if it had been cought earlier and smaller Shirley might not have to have had her left leg removed, plus got a colostomy bag, a suprapubic catheter installed and a hysterectomy. Later she had a peg feeding system put in place, but then maybe she would have had to have all these done, who can say, certainly not me.

Anyway, I seem to have less time to deal with my website. Plus I am moving my website to A2 Hosting shortly. I have already bought a 3 year contract with them due to BlueHost putting their price up.

I don`t know when I`ll get around to moving but it will be shortly since my contract with BlueHost ends on the 22nd of Feb I think.

Talking about my wife`s cancer I should maybe remind you that I have MS, fibromyalgia, depression, ulcerative colitis (an ileostomy bag, for 42 years), optic neuritis and the latest is type 2 diabetes, plus a few other problems which can be caused by MS.
