Last week was dementia awareness week and Alzheimer Scotland are currently working in Fife to roll out Dementia Friendly Communities. To date they have 150 business/organisations who have received dementia friendly status and 4500 registered dementia friends. By 2020 they aim to have 10,000 dementia friends. You can become a dementia friend by logging on to www.dementiafriendsscotland.org. It takes about 15 mins & involves watching 2 short DVD's.
If you log your details you will get an electronic certificate to download and a badge sent through the post. Please help them to increase their number of dementia friends in Fife.
New BSL e-learning resource for Care Service providers

Session ‘A’ of the 39th Fife Festival of Music 2019 gets underway on Tuesday 29 January in Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline and will continue until 09 February with sessions taking place in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Cupar. Entry levels are on a par with previous years and there is a wide range of music-making on offer for both performers and audience.

Due to the rapidly changing landscape in mental health services both locally and nationally, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership is reviewing its current Fife Mental Health Strategy “What Matters to You?” 2013-2020. It is proposed that the new Mental Health Strategy for Fife will be implemented from April 2019 to 2023.

SCVO - Carers Act Transformation Support (Fund)

The Carers Act Transformation Support (CATS) Fund, funded by the Scottish Government, will give third sector organisations the opportunity to apply for small grants to improve their capacity to implement the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016. Round 2 of this fund will focus on supporting third sector organisations who have a role in local implementation of the Act the opportunity to apply for small grants to purchase hardware/software to improve their capacity to do so. The fund will also consider applications for refreshing website functionality.
