Community Support Hub - Drop-in Event

To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, the Community Support Hub in Dunfermline has organised a drop-in event for the public.
Free for everyone to attend, third and public sector partners of the Hub will be there to showcase their services and help people access the support they need.

This session will help participants understand how dementia affects the way a person sees and interacts with the world, how to cope with the changes you see in the person you care for, and to 'take a walk' in their shoes.

Annemarie Smith, Fife Health Promotion Service, will tell us more about the toolkit and what it can do for your clients, including managing daily challenges to mental health and showcasing additional support for frontline staff to develop or maintain awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

Equal Voice Transition Talks 2024
Held on Thursday evenings between 09 and 30 May, the free talks take place in person at the Fife College Kirkcaldy campus.
They will be covering topics such as guardianship and power of attorney processes, transitioning into college, volunteering and employment opportunities, and much more.

Scottish Autism - Autism and Ageing Project Workshop
Tuesday 14 May, Dunfermline
This pioneering creative project aims to better understand the experiences of older autistic adults with learning disabilities. The project will use filmmaking and art to explore the hopes, concerns and needs of this group and to co-produce a vision of future social care services.

Enable Works - Next Steps Employability Programme
This is a ten-week employability-focused course for young people aged 16-24. The programme is specifically for young people who are not in education or employment and have not gone onto a positive destination after leaving school.

Planning Aid Scotland - Support to develop a local walking group
Planning Aid's Walking Edition of their Sustaining Choices programme, is looking to work with up to four communities to support the development of Local Walking Action Plans. They will work with you and your community to develop a series of community engagement exercises which will help to form a Local Walking Action Plan.

Education Scotland - Lay Member Volunteers Needed
Lay members make a positive and valuable contribution to improving Scottish education. They bring an important perspective to our work. Lay members help inspection teams to understand how well a school is doing from the perspective of parents, pupils and where appropriate, the wider community.
